NYIPT Mission

The New York Institute for Psychotherapy Training in Infants, Children and Adolescents is dedicated to improving the quality of mental health services for needy children and families who live in the New York area.  Our theoretical model integrates contemporary psychodynamic theory, developmental theory and research on clinical technique.

Our mission is realized by providing a comprehensive three-year psychotherapy training program at nominal cost to qualified mental health professionals who wish to begin working with children or enhance their skills.

NYIPT also provides direct training services to mental health workers at various agencies and schools, and to parents, teachers and children with the ultimate goal of helping children overcome feelings of anxiety, helplessness and depression in order to continue their development.
